Where to begin?? I don’t think everyone wants to read my “Bio” from October 1951, if so it would be like reading “War and Peace”.    So I decided to shorten it, beginning in 2005 when I joined KFWC now known as GFWC Kentucky.   Alice Kendrick was president at that time and I received the first time attendee prize at the convention. I still have that KFWC pin.  I am currently a member of Woman’s Club of St Matthew. I have a duo membership in Woman’s Club of Madisonville and I’m a honorary membership in Beechmont Woman’s Club.  I was President of Lyndon Woman’s Club until the time they disbanded due to aging out.  During Anne Aubrey’s administration 2008-2010, I was 3rd district chairman for domestic violence. During that time First Lady of the Commonwealth Jane Beshear started “Shop and Share”. So with a lot of work I was able to get Mrs Beshear to come to the 3rd District Fall conference and talk about “Shop and Share”.  I have held several other offices such as 3rd District Vice Governor, 3rd District Governor, GFWC KY 2nd Vice President and GFWC KY President-elect.   Since March 29, 2020 at a time when things are so uncertain in our country and the world, I’m GFWC KY President and I’m wishing on a Star.   This is where “War and Peace” could start. I’ve been a hairdresser for over 50 years and I still work on a very, very part-time basis.  I’ve been married to my husband Tony, for what will be 39 years in November.  We have fur baby named Wyatt that allows us to live in our house.  He will be 15 in December.   What do I like to do in my spare time, you ask?  I like to do crafts of all kinds, work in my yard when the weather is just right (fair weather gardener) and go to the Greenbrier in West Virginia.

President-Elect - Susette  Redwine

(8th District Morehead WC)

Cordinator of Club Presidents

Chairman of the Membership Committee

Chairman of the Long Range Planning

Susette joined the Woman’s Club in 1990 as a way of meeting other women besides the campus women she worked with.  She was brought in the club by Mrs. Elmer (Elizabeth) Anderson, a mentor.  Because of the Morehead Woman’s Club, she has developed many life, long friendships that she loves and cherishes.  In the Fall of 2005, someone approached her during the SER Conference Kentucky was hosting and asked her to apply for Treasurer of KFWC.  Telling that person, she oversaw a large budget at work but did not know about doing QuickBooks as it was a different system than what she was used to.  And thus, it began.  At the Spring 2006 convention, she was elected Treasurer for KFWC working with President, Faye Gregory.   During that administration, she learned much and decided to run for a second two year term working with President, Anne Aubrey.  And so, the story goes.  She has seen the name change from KFWC to GFWC Kentucky, a new state logo and the sale of purchase of headquarters.  All through this, she has maintained a smile and hopefully a positive attitude.  In 2016 she was elected President of the organization and encouraged members to “Walk with Confidence.”  She has served her own club in a variety of positions and has served on the GFWC Board of Directors and SER.When she is not volunteering “clubbing,” Susette can be found serving as the Religion Formation Coordinator at the Catholic Church in Morehead.  She also serves on the Morehead/Rowan County Tourism Commission; Downtown Morehead Committee; the Tax Increment Financing Committee and is a member of the Rowan County Chamber of Commerce.   Susette also teaches a class at the high school on Employability Skills to students in the Agriculture Department one semester an academic year.  In her spear time, she enjoys shopping and light reading!  She and husband Bill enjoy traveling and spoiling grandchildren.  They have two children, Deveney, a clubwoman and Brett.  Brett is married to Emilee and they have two children, Will and Masyn Lynn.

First Vice -PRESIDENT- Elect-Donna Vaughn (2nd District/Madisonville WC)

Cordinator of all Chairman

I have two daughters ages 31 and 26.  Rebecca is a Physician Assistant and Rachel is a Music Therapist.  I also have a yellow lab named Zoie.  I love to travel, especially internationally.  I enjoy thoroughbred racing, owning several horses through partnerships and racing clubs.  An avid sports fan, especially of NFL football, I have season tickets to the Indianapolis Colts along with my daughter and son-in-law.  I attend First Christian Church in Madisonville where I sing in the choir.

Second Vice President- Susan Harley (8th District/Jackson Woman's Club)

Coordinator of District Governors and Vice Governors

Susan Kellogg Harley is an Ohio native having moved to Kentucky in November of 2006. Susan quickly became involved in the community and in early 2007 became a member of the Jackson Woman's Club.  She has held several offices in her club and at the District level before becoming the GFWC KY 2nd Vice President for the 2020-2022 term. With a background in long-term care Susan enjoys volunteering at the local hospital, the Breathitt County Senior Center and with KRADD (Kentucky River Administrative District) with the Elder Abuse Awareness Council.  She is also involved with youth as a mentor at a community youth program, as well as being involved with both the Jackson First United Methodist Church and Holy Cross Catholic Church. Susan has found working in the community very rewarding and is honored to serve any way she can. In her free time Susan enjoys crafts, music, reading, cooking, travel and exploring new places.  Susan and her husband Shawn enjoy hiking, especially at National Parks and hope to make it to all 50 states. They also enjoy spending time with family near and far. Being an avid walker, Susan has completed 3 marathons as fundraisers for the Leukemia Lymphoma Society and a 3 day 60 mile Breast Cancer walk in Arizona.  Susan enjoys a challenge. She loves learning and growing as an individual as well as working with a team  striving to make a difference.   Susan believes that life is full of opportunities. You just need to be open to all the possibilities and options that come your way.  There is a poem by George Bernard Shaw that says, " I want to be thoroughly used up when I die, for the harder I work the more I live.  I rejoice in life for its own sake." That is Susan's goal.  Susan is excited to be part of the 2020-2022 Executive Committee and looks forward to what the next two years have in store for her and GFWC Kentucky. Wish Big, Dream Often, Be A Shining Star.

Director of Junior Clubs- Preshus Howard  (9th  District/Barbourville Jr.  WSC)

Coordinator of all Junior / Juniorette Clubs

Hello GFWC Kentucky! I am excited to begin this new 2020-2022 Administration as your Director of Junior Clubs with GFWC Kentucky President Teresa Schmidt and our wonderful Executive Committee! Great things are coming our way and I hope to be able to get as much information out to you as possible about GFWC Juniors’ Special Programs: Advocates for Children along with the partners March of Dimes and St. Jude. There are several ways to do online donations and participate in virtual walk/runs across the Commonwealth for both partners. I will get a GFWC Kentucky Team set up for St. Jude within the next week and hopefully will have one for March of Dimes too. When in doubt, you can check the Juniors page on the website and remember it’s not just for Junior members, it’s is for every member.  I do hope everyone will continue raising awareness for Organ, Eye and Tissue donation and continue promoting the Donor Registry. It is something we all know that is truly special to me and as I’ve come to find out, a lot of you too. This is something me, family and friends will advocate and raise awareness forever. I look forward to seeing everyone this summer and then as we begin our Fall Conferences! Preshus J. Secretary - Paula Robinson (1st District/Benton WC)

Record the proceedings of all meetings of GFWC KY, the Board of Directors, the Executive Committee and the Headquarters Committee

I joined the Benton Woman's Club at the invitation of a friend in 2007. I was apprehensive at first, because I had just moved to Benton a few months before, but all the Clubwomen made me feel welcome. If you are new to an area or just wish to meet more women with the common interest of volunteering, it is the perfect place to be! I have made so many friends over the years and learned so much about serving others. It was the best decision for me, as I enjoy working to make our community better.  Since joining, I have served as a Club committee Chair, President of the Club, Governor of 1st District, 1st District Chaplain and a state committee Chair. I currently serve as the State Secretary and my Club treasurer. I really enjoy serving, so these leadership roles have been very fun for me. Not all Clubwomen want to be THAT involved, and that is okay!! You get to decide how active you want to be! :) I have been married to Paul Robinson, who is a native of Great Britain, for 23 years. We have two children; our daughter is 19 and attends WKU, and our son is 16 and attends Marshall County High School. We have three Dachshunds, one (very old) cat, and six chickens. We love to “camp” in our camper at Kentucky Lake, so that is likely where you will find us most weekends from March thru October. 😊

TREASURER - Darla Doss (1st District/Benton WC)

Serves as Chairman of Budget-Finance Committee

Oversees all funds of GFWC KY

My name is Darla Doss and I am a 20+ year member of the Benton Woman's Club.  I have held various offices on both the club and district levels and have also served as the GFWC KY treasurer during the 2018-2019 administration.  I am a graduate of the University of Kentucky and am a huge KY Wildcat Fan!!  My husband and I own a dental practice in Benton and work together along with our daughter, who is a dental hygienist.  We also have a son who is a student at the University of KY.  I really enjoy living in Western Ky and am fortunate enough to have a home on beautiful Kentucky Lake.  Some of the things I enjoy are boating, golfing (though I am really bad), organizing, crafting, and taking trips with my girlfriends.  I am looking forward to serving once again as your GFWC KY Treasurer.
